Ayurveda for Yoga Teachers/Advanced Practitioners
This Intensive training offers in depth studis of the fundamentals theories and practices of Ayurveda. Not as a background but rather as a hand in hand science that has always been a part of the ancient Yoga practices. This program allows students to personally experience the benefits of daily selfceare practices such as supporting your immunity during covid times, seasonal eating, meditation, mindfulness & yoga all while exploring Ayurveda's philosophy and its take on topics such as digestion, nutrition, anatomy, physiology & psychology to further learn about yourself, your Asana practice and your students & their particular constitution. This training is about you and finding your true self during these difficult times.
HIGHLIGHTS OF WHAT WE WILL STUDY:
-Ayurveda fundamentals including its origin, history and philosophy, learn about The 5 Great Elements (Ether, Air, Fire, Water, Earth), understand the doshas and the sub-doshas and their relationship to a balanced mind/body
-Integrate principles of Ayurvedic Yoga into your daily and seasonal routine, including therapeutical applications, learn pranayama techniques for balancing the doshas, understand prakriti (individual nature) and vikriti (current state of being)
-Understand various states of agni (digestive fire), understand the digestive process thru both an Ayurvedic and Western perspective

Module 1: Foundations of Ayurveda
Welcome to the life-changing world of Ayurvedic medicine. This module will offer a foundation for your own personal healing transformation of body-mind-heart that you will journey through during this program. You will establish a focussed intention for your health and life and delve into the theoretical and experiential aspects of working with the 5 elements of Ayurveda in your life. We will establish a sacred container for the power of your intention to be supported and amplified. You will understand why so many people get confused about understanding their Ayurvedic constitution and learn how to decipher the language of the doshas.
In this module we will explore:
The history and philosophy of Ayurveda
The 3 Doshas and their role in your yoga practice
The 5 element theory (Pancha Maha Bhutas)
The 20 attributes (Gunas) and how to interpret them
Prakruti versus vikruti
Vata, pitta, kapha doshas and all of their combinations
Discovering your personal doshic make-up
Module 2: Ayurveda on your yoga mat
In this module you will discover the intricacies and subtleties of the doshic trifecta and their imbalances. You will have an opportunity to understand your doshic constitution at conception as well as your current state and how to begin to bring balance and harmony to your body-mind-heart. Once you get a grasp of the doshas you will be introduced to the fifteen subdoshas. This eye-opening knowledge will take you deeper in your understanding of Ayurveda than ever before.
Taking time to prioritize your health is essential for living a vibrant and sustainable life. You will be introduced to Ayurveda’s incredibly potent self-care secrets that will transform your relationship to your body, self-image, and vitality. You will understand self-care according to the season, dosha, time of life, and personal imbalance.
Learn how to bring these practices to your students for a holistic experience of healing; weaving in Ayurveda, yoga’s sister science into your yoga classes.

The various states of your digestive fire (agni) and how to bring balance
The 6 tastes of Ayurveda and food categories
Mindful eating: the how and why
Healthy, easy to make Ayurvedic recipes, cooking together
How to work with herbs in your kitchen and daily cooking for incredible health
The fifteen subdoshas
